You all at-least have an idea about SE i.e search engine, as you know about it or have heard about it. Search engine is a software system that is designed to search for the required information on the World Wide Web. For example, Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc are the leading search engines.

Now taking about SEO (search engine optimization), It is the method of touching the visibility of a web site or an internet page in a search engine's unpaid (organic) results. In short, it is the practice to get your website search results improved on the search engines.

For example,
If you create any website with your own name, suppose "johnadams.com" then SEO is something that will make your website ranking on the search engine's very first page of results for the keyword of your name, i.e. "john adams".

Just check the image above, the things listed in sky blue color are all the key factors that come under the term SEO. Keywords, Search position, Page rank, Content, Links and rest all such things that relate to searching.
